The Silver Toad Handmade Crafts was created as an outlet for our craft habit/hoarding problem. We are two best friends, now retired, looking for ways to keep ourselves out of trouble (not likely) and maybe make a little pin money (to buy more craft supplies) in the process. The process of making/creating is where we truly find our joy. Our craft rooms are our happy place!

We brainstormed several options to name our small business, but none felt quite right. After doing a little research, we decided on The Silver Toad Handmade Crafts. The “Silver Toad” resonated with us for the following reasons.

1. The color silver has many meanings such as, protection, intuition, femininity, clarity, positivity, truth, wisdom, trust, and illumination, just to name a few.

2. Toads have been symbols of transformation, rebirth and renewal in many traditions. They are often associated with the cycle of life and with cleansing and healing properties. Toads symbolize the ability to adapt to new situations and environments, as well as the power to release and let go of what no longer serves one’s highest good.

We added “Hand Made Crafts” as we wanted to be clear that the products we sell are all hand made by us, with love, care, and possibly some swearing and tantrums (sometimes, not always). As our items are all handmade, no two products will ever be exactly the same.

We are new to online selling and will most likely be changing and restructuring our website as we grow and learn. We appreciate your stopping by to our little corner of the internet and hope you will come by to see us again.
